Hello. I was using Ubuntu for 2+ years. Then Unity came out. I ignored it untill September when I foolishly updated. Ubuntu proceeded to freeze on full screen videos, crash, and cause everything to "dissapear". This combined with the awful GUI caused me to consider switching.
Luckily I enjoy trying different distros so I found this. I liked the openbox GUI (or whatever would it be considered, I have alot to learn) and the wonderful community caused me to want to try this. When i first tried I was unhappy with the light window colors since I came from gnome. I have grown to love #! since yesterday (even the colours). I will definetly be suing this for a long while.
Please forgive my grammar.

Welcome Storm Cloud.
#! is indeed a sweet performer and you can't beat the Debian repos. Openbox does come with a learning curve but it's well
worth the time. Enjoy your stay!

Welcome aboard, Storm Cloud, and like zbreaker said, Openbox takes a little getting used to, but after awhile you'll be using another distro and wonder why you don't get a menu when you right click the desktop

I have not encountered any difficulty. Of course, I have only been using it for less than 24 hours. I also am not doing anything like editing files. I am still moving my mouse over to the side of the screen, I keep forgetting that it's not Unity (thank corenominal).

I had been using Ubuntu for a few years. With 12.10 ...the embedded advertising and crashes were making me crazy. So, I am jumping ship. After several test installs... I really like #! . I have run #! for a year or two on a netbook with great success. I hope it will be as good on my main "work" laptop. Only issue I am having right now is sound. I am off to read forums for an answer right now.
