I have downloaded (wget) from linux.starvinghacker.org and the md5 is different: 2436... ...B248D
link indicated above in the thread;
is it 'normal' or a bad sign
Offline
Thats a bad sign. Looks like you need to start over.
Offline
nah, I switched to the torrent, it looks healthy.
I thought about reporting it just in case others have the same md5.... then it would mean the file is not bona fide.

Now seeding all four iso torrents

Hehe, the 64bit torrent is doing well:) 31 seeders, 3 leechers and my rtorrent shows 10309MBs uploaded with a ratio of 15.3. Great success! \o/

Is there going to be a Jaunty release for the asus eeepc version of crunchbang?

Downloading 9.04 lite (torrent) @ 835K. Full d/l in 9mins 14 secs.
Now to seed for the next few days!

I'm not sure that there's going to be a separate "CrunchEEE" 9.04 release, although many are using CrunchBang 9.04 desktop with the array.org kernel. I've been running the unmodified desktop version on my eeepc 900 without issues. Boot time is close to 60 seconds - not as fast as it could be, but still way faster than my wife's laptop running Windoze.

Uploading crunchbang-9.04.01-i386.iso to my free host as we speak. (also seeding, though slowly, the torrent on tpb.)

As a warning, I tried to upgrade to the array kernel and ended up having to reinstall. I probably did something wrong, but my Asus eeePC 1000HE didn't like what I did to it very much.

All 9.04 .iso's can be found at http://dontfightthefuture.com/mirror/ - The 8 series ones are there as well....

Hi gang,
I have requested the ftp admin at Internet Solutions, www.is.co.za to mirror CrunchBang as I'm a user in SA
He did so, and here are the links copied directly from his mail to me:
ftp://ftp.is.co.za/mirror/crunchbanglin … crunchbang
rsync.is.co.za::IS-Mirror/crunchbanglinux.org/crunchbang/
He does not mind the link being placed on your download page, but asks for the name "Internet Solutions" to appear there also. His words:
I've manually downloaded all the latest Crunchbang iso files, making a full
collection of everything from 8.04 to 9.04.I visited the wiki page you mentioned. The policy IS operates the ftp server
under is that hosted projects must be freely redistributable to the world with
no conditions, meaning that we don't block any geographic area (but we do
block anything that looks like a DoS). So I have no problem with the download
URL being posted on the wiki.Normally, I would have made the post myself, but that means registering with
one more forum that I will likely never use again. I already have too many of
those :-) I assume you are a registered forum user? If so, feel free to post
the links; all I ask in return is that you mention the name "Internet
Solutions".--

This is great news for SA users - we can now obtain iso's via local bandwidth. Our monopolistic telco is slowly loosing it's grip on our purse strings, but many still pay dearly for bandwidth.
Thanks for a great overall package that just does the job!!

Thanks sooo much - I can't do torrents at work.
However, I don't need it at the moment 'cause I just found a http download of #! 10 I had forgotten about. I needed a 32bit install this morning and was stymied by the torrent-only method.
I'm certain your post will please a number of would-be bangers
Cheers,
