I love the forums, but the layout is not very mobile friendly. Is there a possibility where we can access this board via Forum Runner or Tapatalk?
I'm using my phone ATM, but it's pure torture

Out of curiosity, which handset do you use?
I've seen similar threads on other forums, but in YEARS of smartphone browsage have never had an issue with a single one.
I check here at least 3 times a day on my SGS2, renders perfectly. Prior to that my dext did likewise.
I always figured tapatalk was a cunning way of tricking money out of people to do something that the browser did for free!

I use a Samsung Galaxy 551, which is much smaller than a SGS2. Maybe a mobile optimized version of the forums will be better for us with less screen real estate.
BTW, this is the most comfortable text size for me. Zoom further out and you won't be able to read the text.

Yeah with the new site currently in the works I was hoping for tapatalk intergration. I currently use it for another forum and it's much easier than a mobile browser.
pay the bills with Windows, obssesed with Linux, studying CCNA when I can fit it in.

After a little bit of searching I found this: BBFoc
I can confirm that it works for the #! forums.
Edit: I thought about making an mobile app specific for the #! forums, cause it would be a nice addition to the chrome-extension. I'll see after finishing some other projects.
Edit 2: You can't post anything with that app

"Phone calls
read phone state and identity
Allows the app to access the phone features of the device. An app with this permission can determine the phone number and serial number of this phone, whether a call is active, the number that call is connected to and the like."
red flag

^^You're right with that. I'll later test my network-sniffer and look if the app's contacting servers it shouldn't connect to.

it can do it once per few days or weeks. maybe the dev just left out a line in manifest, but who knows.

Thanks for bringing that to our attention. I'm just happy I can read the forums on my phone now. Not being able to post is a bit of a drag but maybe Phillip will intergrate Tapatalk code into the forums and then we can have our cake and eat it too.

Tapatalk support would be great if possible.

FWIW, the new site will be as mobile friendly as I can make it.

I can't believe people in a Linux board actually do ask for proprietary software support.
I'm so meta, even this acronym

If you've got a better idea I'd like to hear it? Bearing in mind it has to work across both Android and Apple platforms.

corenominal is on the right way already, becker. Making the site mobile-friendly will do the trick.

I second this!

Considering my aversion to asking Corenominal to take the additional time to adapt to how I want to view the site when I'm not paying for it, I have to say it works fine on my Sony Ericson Cedar (not a smartphone).

The new mobile friendly design has now been rolled out. Hopefully it will make using the forums a lot easier for mobile and tablet users.
