[SOLVED] Automatic Menu

In other distros (using gnome, xfce, etc), when a program is installed it is typically added automatically to the menu in an appropriate category. I know there are programs that will generate this menu for openbox, but is there say a pipe-menu that can do this automatically on the fly? I'd like to have my typical CrunchBang menu but with a submenu that contains the same contents you'd find in another DE's menu, updated automatically. Is there such a thing?

I hate having to dig around the system for the proper executable to run for a package I just installed (which doesn't always match the package name). When packages are installed, what are they doing to put themselves in other distros' menus?

Re: [SOLVED] Automatic Menu

I use uxdgmenu, and I love it.  Do a google search for it.  It's got 4 different pipe menus that you can add to the standard #! menu - applications, recent files, places, and bookmarks.  I only use the applications and recent files menu, but again, it works really well.
