Unable to fetch sources on update

I am getting the following message when I update.  Does anyone know what is going on?  I havent been able to find a lot about online.

W: Failed to fetch bzip2:/var/lib/apt/lists/partial/http.debian.net_debian_dists_wheezy_non-free_binary-amd64_Packages Hash Sum mismatch

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Thanks!

Re: Unable to fetch sources on update

happens every now and then. Do a sudo apt-get update later (in a few hours) again. If the error persists, remove the file /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/http.debian.net_debian_dists_wheezy_non-free_binary-amd64_Packages (thought this should not be needed)

Awesome!  I'll give it a try in a bit.  Thanks!  So are the mirrors just being updated?

Re: Unable to fetch sources on update

^ That is often the case with that sort of problems. Sometimes retrying a couple minutes later solves it.

Re: Unable to fetch sources on update

^When you run apt-get update you'll see it ends without error message or warning - this is a successful update then.

Re: Unable to fetch sources on update

I had the same problem, but was able to get updates after updating the repository keys.

$ sudo apt-key update
[sudo] password for drteeth:
gpg: key B98321F9: "Squeeze Stable Release Key <debian-release@lists.debian.org>" not changed
gpg: key 473041FA: "Debian Archive Automatic Signing Key (6.0/squeeze) <ftpmaster@debian.org>" not changed
gpg: key 65FFB764: "Wheezy Stable Release Key <debian-release@lists.debian.org>" not changed
gpg: key 46925553: "Debian Archive Automatic Signing Key (7.0/wheezy) <ftpmaster@debian.org>" not changed
