Alien Section OS - A project by a fellow Crunchbanger

Hello Crunchbanger's

meatballmas has been working on a custom linux distro, called Alien Section OS.
There are 2 versions available, one is debian based, the other ubuntu 12.04 based.

Anyone who has ever installed debian netinstall, or made anything with remastersys, knows how much work goes into this kind of project.

So lets show our support by downloading and installing the ISO's.
unetbootin is the recomended method, but i have both of them successfully booting in VBox, on a 64bit machine.

Quite a mouthful for a distro name. Seems an interesting project. Best of luck.
Btw, I noticed the .tk domain country code. Is Meatball really from Tokelau, or is it just a free-domain he grabbed?

Just wondering because;

In 2006, McAfee conducted a survey in which they claim out of the 95 percent most trafficked web sites, .tk domains were twice as likely as the global average to be used for "unwanted behaviors", including scams such as phishing and spam. However, in 2008 McAfee reported that the threat of scams like phishing and spam was significantly reduced with .tk and that other top level domains such as .com and .net were much more used in such scams.

A recent report by the Anti Phishing Working Group blamed Tokelau's bad reputation on a Dutch company called Dot TK, which bought the top level domain, and is responsible for the current free registration system. .tk domains logged 2533 of 11768 total phishing attacks in the latter half of 2010 internet-wide.

Damn Dutch!! First they stop visitors from buying weed, then they kick Spaniards in the ribs, and now they're phishing the Polynesians!!

Not sure, but a free domain is a free domain nontheless.

@gutterslob: visitors can still buy weed. you just need to travel a little further from the border
of course in due time that'll all be over too. damn Dutch. i hate them.

Its just a free domain I set up because I'm not ready to buy a domain yet! I'm just a college student starting up a nice Linux project based on my most favorite distros, and its in good working progress I'm not from Tokelau I'm from San Francisco, CA . Wow I didn't know that people are abusing the .tk along with .co.cc with malware Thanks for checking out my project you guys

Looks like that domain has been abandoned...   Suggests the project has been abandoned as well?
