I found this thread when I had the same problem on my freshly installed Mint 13.
I uninstalled gnome-keyring to no avail, but this time conky complained about a missing curl-command.
Everything was fine again after I installed curl.
Just wanted to tell, maybe some of you are lacking some commands too that your conkies try to run.

best way to find out is to run:
conky -c /path_to/conky_file -DD &That will show what's what.

In my case I add MATE instead of LXDE.
I believe those working with Mint have to ad Mint or MINT.
