I don't think it's possible to change xscreensaver's flame, unfortunately, without some source hacking...

I believe there's people who hates Faenza icons and there's people who doesn't.
At first I was skeptical, but once I gave them a try I used them by default on all distros I have installed. In my opinion, I think they are great. Especially those gray icons.
By the way, how did you do to put white monochrome icons in tint2 panel and black icons in thunar's tool bar? Because I'm using Faenza Icon Set in Statler and I can only set black or white monochrome icons in both panels.

drum: unpack to a new folder in ~/.icons and run the supplied script is what i did.
