I definitely don't have all that stuff working on mine (like spelling correction and shared command history).  I'll have to look into some of that.

Re: October 2012 Screenshot Thread

@ninjaaron
Arch users have a package with GRML configs as well.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Zs … shrc_files

If I'm not mistaken, the new/current iso images for Arch use the grml setup now, though this is only for the live system and you're probably still defaulted to bash upon a full installation.

I would have thought everyone here had graduated to zsh.

  As zsh is a superset of Bash most wouldn't notice unless you needed or wanted one of the features zsh offers which I never seem to need.. say recursive globbing..
For those who need the additional features it is a better way to go.

The command completion seems to be a lot better in zsh.  Bash doesn't seem to be able to fill in options when you're using aliases, but zsh does.  I think that's the one "can't live without" feature for me.

The ability to edit multi-line commands is a boon too, though obviously not used as regularly as command completion. I use that a lot for editing multiple text files via `sed` in a for loop, and maybe with a condition.  No need use a text editor for short, one-off scripts, as zsh supports vi and emacs commands inside of the shell itself.  I never use the globbing (though there are probably cases where it would be better than what I'm doing). Syntax highlighting in the shell is also nice, though not strictly necessary.

edit:
zsh has an irc channel on freenode. How wonderful.  I'm in spell checking, shared history heaven, and this is just the beginning. God bless internet relay chat.

That are some valid points to switch. Well time to get up my lazy ass.

Good idea, though I'd propably have to patch either dwm or the font to use those with termsyn.

If dwm only uses X core fonts, you'll be better off patching dwm. I've had bad luck getting UTF-8 bitmap fonts working as x core.  They only seem to work when you call them as xft. Not sure what it would take to get libxft working in dwm though...
