Re: Proud Parent

To the charge of being a proud parent, I plead guilty. My daughter Mimi, now 14, never fails to make me proud. She's a pretty good artist (gets that from her mother's side, obviously) and she's a FOSS user (a wizard at GIMP) on her hand-me-down ThinkPad T40 running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. The photo is from the Southern California Linux Expo SCALE 9X, where she and I were giving an UpSCALE Talk (a lightning talk) and the previous year, she and two of her friends gave a talk at SCALE about "girls and open source software."

OK, I'll shut up now. Here's a photo.

Great idea for a thread, jmad2011 -- thanks!

My eldest is in my avatar.

I would be posting two pics of all 3 of mine, but apparently photobucket has become a little phone unfriendly!

I'll post them when I can lol.

Re: Proud Parent

Don't have kids myself, but thanks for sharing everybody.

Laughing a bit at the conniption-fit other forums would have with a post like this. lol

Anyone who doesn't like kids usually isn't worth knowing as a human being.

Re: Proud Parent

Great Pics!
My son is 29 and might be non-plussed by me posting his childhood pics. He does sometimes browse  the forums.

Really demonstrates a how tight knit & trusting a community #! is.
Word of (perhaps unnecessary) caution, Share children's pics while always keeping the backgrounds generic and/or Public, such as logs_cons London scene. You don't want to pin point a picture's locale with reference to a child's home.
Good people here but there is always the possibility of an ill intentioned lurker. (not likely but, I lean towards over cautious)

There are lots of peaks and valleys in parenting, pvsage, but on the whole it's a glorious burden.
