Hello corenominal,
Would it be possible to have a compiled version of SpaceFM to install and let the community evaluate as part of the Waldolf development cycle? PCManFM is proving very flaky and the lack of tabs in Thunar means is isn't a suitable replacement for me.
As an aside, Waldorf is behaving beautifully for me. I have swapped back to vlc as Gnome-mplayer was causing hard lockups with certain media which vlc plays without issue.
Thank you.

I have been meaning to take a look at creating a SpaceFM package for while. If I get time, I will have a look later today. Thanks for the reminder.

^ I would wait on it corenominal. Here, IgnorantGuru talks about his plans with it.
Hi, spacefm 0.8.0 does require gtk 2.24 so is not easily buildable on squeeze.
A port to gtk3 has been started. This will make spacefm buildable with either gtk2 or gtk3 via a configure option. Part of this also includes dropping the gtk2 dependency from 2.24 to 2.18, and that part of the conversion is already complete.
This work is currently being done on BwackNinja's gtk3 fork, and after review being merged to the gtk3 branch on spacefm's main code repo. That will in turn eventually be merged into the next branch and then the master branch for release. No date is available for when that will be done, but you can currently build from those branches and gtk 2.18 should work okay. Not yet sure if spacefm's next release version will include gtk 2.18 compatibility but it may.
Another link from that page revealed this comment from IgnorantGuru
BwackNinja's gtk 2.18 compatibility work has been merged into spacefm's 'next' branch, meaning it should be in the 0.8.1 release

IgnorantGuru's packages should work with testing so you could include the spacefm package from his repository in #! 11.

VastOne,
Whilst I appreciate what is being quoted, the request was just for evaluation purposes in a testing distro. It appears Waldorf has GTK at v2.24 anyhow.

My apologies for re-opening an older topic.
Looks like SpaceFM has hit release 0.8.7, with support at gtk-3.
