Updating flightgear

I just installed flightgear 1.9.1 through synaptic package manager but I want to upgrade it to the newest version 2.8.0 how would i do that.  I also installed the bombable add-on how would I upgrade that to the newest version? would i just extract the new version into the program files.

Re: Updating flightgear

Here you will see that flightgear is

version 1.9.1 in Stable/#! Statler

version 2.4.0-1.2 in Wheezy/Testing/#! Waldorf

version 2.6.0-1 in Sid

You could get the Testing or the Sid version by pinning, but that would most likely cause issues.

If there is a 2.8 version it would most likely need to be built to install.
