Save as find_my_lost_video and make the script executable:

chmod +x /path/where/you/saved/the/script/find_my_lost_video

Execute as

/path/to/script/find_my_lost_video "youtubeaddress"

for example

~/find_my_lost_video "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0"

A text file will be created on your Desktop named video_addresses

These are the links to the videos contained in the youtube page (mp4, flv, high quality, medium quality, etc.)
You can now copy and paste them in your web browser and download the video you like - afterwards, you can sort things out with ffmpeg (or avidemux if you're a gui guy).

I understand that this could be done with all these FlashRetriever, YouTubeDownloader, etc. thingamabobs, but the script way
1) is the linux way
2) will not bloat your web browser even more than it already is.

DISCLAIMER: Do this only if you own the video (remember the thread's title?). We wouldn't want all these hardworking rock stars and hollywood actors to starve, would we? After all, piracy kills music, cinema, the ozone layer, etc. Right? Right...

Yup, definitely.
Also, all these extensions, widgets, or whatever they're called, search for media files on every site you visit, thus increasing your browser's load.
