Python 2.7.3

I'm looking at installing Python 2.7.3 to use with Idle in #!
Has anyone had success at this? I don't want to screw up the current Python install.

Re: Python 2.7.3

I ran

apt-get install idle

and launched it, it says IDLE 2.6.5.  This is after installing the latest tarball of Python.  Is there a version of IDLE that corresponds to each python release?
