Hi there! Looked a little into Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux certs, and they seem pretty tempting, but what do you guys think?
RHCSA seems pretty tempting too, as well.

well they are beneficial if you wanna be a system-admin and wanna be a slave at some research facility , typing passwords and handling people's mailboxes.
sometimes all you need is to face the worst fear you have and to overcome it.

Cool! I looked into them a few minutes ago and they look pretty tempting as possible certs, along with obviously A+ and Net+.

Care to elaborate on this? Working as a 'slave' and getting paid for it is progress isn't it? Getting the certs would be a step in that direction.
With so many jobs outsourced now, any 'slave' job with wages cannot be a bad thing.

well in that sense yeah i would also say go for it.
@vastone - there isn't much to elaborate well if someone likes the job they should surely take it up , but i for one would hate to be a system admin.(i was just saying all i said before in my context)

As a SysAdmin at a research facility I guess I should be offended but somehow I'm not so bothered as I get paid to play with super computers.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I guess it would depend on what your future employer was looking for, but I would bet that the RHCSA would be the most beneficial. There's a good article in the September issue of Linux Format about obtaining the RHCSA.

^ No worries apm. I enjoy it most of the time but it's definitely not for everyone.
