Excellent work.

I've registered just to feedback how impressive crunchbang is. I've used Ubuntu for years and I really like it but the hardware requirements are getting too high for some of the hardware I use. I tried xubuntu and lubuntu. They were okay. Then I installed crunchbang on my 9 year old daughter's aging laptop 'knowing' it wouldn't really be suitable for a novice user. I was very wrong. She just uses the keyboard shortcuts with complete ease and the complete lack of clutter is great. It's so fast, using a small proportion of her 500mb of RAM. I'm installing it on my main machine. I'm blown away. Thanks for all the hard work. Great job.

@ wicksey

Welcome to #!, what a great testimony.

aging laptop 'knowing' it wouldn't really be suitable for a novice user.

Surprise, Surprise!!  Sometimes 'knowing' something is simply a preconceived idea from (un)educated guesses that blow us out of the water.

Soon she'll be helping you with #!  big_smile

I am also blown away with CrunchBang. It truly is amazing. This forum too. That daughter may be adding endless conky lua scripts on here soon....

The more the merrier. Especially young fresh ideas.  Mine are all 'old' and fizzling out.  big_smile

Indeed! I love them! Though I had trouble configuring a lua to work with conky and was too embarassed to ask. I used to have them set up on previous install.......honest

hahahahahaha If I had $1 for every time I asked mrpeachy "How do I start that in a conky?" I'd have no financial problems for the rest of my like.  And if I had to pay $1 for every time I asked - I'd be broke and still wondering how to do it.  smile

Don't be shy - ask, we will answer!

And between the tears of laughter I will be remembering how I did the same.
{but I won't tell you that - ever!}

What we have to do now is get wicksey over to the conky thread.
