I dont know what speed daemons pc are you people using but i use a lenovo laptop, core2duo 2.1ghz, 6gb ddr3, 521nvidia gpu. I dont think a dual core pc is weak.
About lxde, better use openbox. wink

There's no need to limit LXDE to OpenBox. It uses it by default. But since it's Linux, it's all about choices.

I've some experience with LXDE and Debian 6.0 - I enjoyed it.

But, the really pure WM is i3. In my opinion, great stuff!
