hi there, started using #! 5 years ago on my now old-but extremly faithful toshiba m100 and every other pc i have owned inbetween after getting the shits with various other OS/distros.. like all rescent versions of windows and ubuntu/mint. so far ive never had an issue, other than the logitec headset not working in browsers before that 5 second fix.
I can't really fault this system. It looks great, runs like a champ and makes me happy when I see im using under 200mb even with iceweasel idling. When ever people ask how i got vista/7 too look so great i laugh and tell them about the linux disto #! and how its the Type R / Superleggera of all the distro's in linuxland, Im friends with alot of gear heads.
So far, all most all are converted and generaly have a good time untill they use #!'s default browsers homepage - "http://crunchbang.org/start"
all have said the same thing, "I prefer to use it to support the distro but it lacks some features."
said missing items.
- options for searching.. image, video, news, calendar, maps etc.
basicaly the handy shit that makes google the easy to use go to option.
surely something can be implemented without great dificulty, i do alot of shiftwork and at 3am google's white background is blinding whereas bang's give the eyes time to adjust before you are bomarded with white light, plus it supports the distro. Hopefully in the next X month/s an images button appears in the top bar of the homepage between #! __________________ "insert user here"
thanks.

you are not allowed to post your thoughts before you do a Introduction thread.
just kidding
anyway, i never use the default startpage because i got my own. it does look nice though, now that i tried it out. maybe corenominal will see fit to make these changes.

Welcome to the forum Stone.
I had the same thoughts awhile back.
What I did was went to google's homepage.. opened each link (image, maps, video.. ect ect)
and added them to my bookmark toolbar.. naming them appropriately.
Hope that helps some.

Best go say hello in the introduction thread...
Welcome to the #! community...
Nope I like the dark theme... in every way... its a massive bonus to my many years of light sensitivity
simple... clear... plus google throws up extra options when needed... But if its easily done then why not have a go yourself and offer it up to the #! forum members...

I agree with OP, mainly because say, I search 'puppies' and then want to search youtube or images or maps (dunno why) specifically, I would just click one and it would already have it typed in.
