I replicated the bug with Vlc and Geany...

As you can see only the original window is missing. strange.

Yes I get this and all of the above too

but cant reproduce it, seems to happen randomly

been happening with me since this thread opened... looks like a combination of apps cause the probs, geany does it for me. unless a gfx app (like viewnoir) is up..
getting pretty quick at restarting compton. maybe should assign a key shortcut.

This happened to me the other day but I cannot remember what I had open at the time. It was definitely in Waldolf on my desktop though and not my statler Webbook.

I got the "ghost" when I tried to create a new folder to bookmark while in iceweasel.

^ Yes as was pointed out earlier an effect sometimes of the Composite manager.
You should (when composite is enabled and shadow effects turned on) see that as each window closes.
Shouldn't stay on the screen though
Try turning of the Shadow effects in the Composite manager.

Havent had any issues yet with Waldorf/openbox until this was mentioned. It seems to be after using a program, then close/exit it, then hitting the hotspot in upper-left corner which puts a ghost box in that corner as shown in above images. All functions under the ghost i.e. desktop or app have full functionality

Note: I duplicated it with any program and note each time Hot Corner is used another ghost layer is added and any further apps opened become more visually degraded, I commented out Hot Corners in autostart and unable to recreate ghost so def related to the hot corner feature
