There is a new microdonation site that might help folks support CrunchBang with automatic monthly donations.
With a little luck, tiptheweb.org will gather a little momentum.
I set up a monthly donation for crunchbang (flagging the main URL crunchbang.org), but it won't do anything unless other folks do the same AND if the owner of the site claims the donations.
Again, not sure if this will work, but I hope it does. If not, I'll cancel my tip and try to remember to make an annual donation.

I could see how the post could be considered spam.
But, for the record, I don't have any interest in TipTheWeb other than a general desire to find a way to easily encourage folks to make donations to free web content. If I was out of line by posting the URL, please let me know and I'll be more careful.
OTOH - I have been a fan of #! for a couple of years and, for the past few months, it has been my primary distro. I gotta pay my dues.

I too had misgivings when I saw the thread title, but this settles things for me.

If you go to the CrunchBang Linux home page, you'll see a Paypal link. There's also a Flattr link...somewhere...

We've earned a reputation as a nice, friendly community; please help us keep it that way.

...and while you're at it, why not make a visit in the Introductions subforum and make yourself a thread?
