Changed back to Gnome icons, and then I changed back to Faenza again.Now the icons for network and volume are white and grey as they are supposed to. The clipboard icon has also turned white, it did stay yellow the first time. Probably just a hiccup in my clickup.
Strange stuff! My network icon in the Tint2 systray is fine, the volume icon is almost invisible. Looks like a few of us are finding this glitch

Is a complete reboot necessary?
I had to log out and back in to make all the changes happen. Volume icon is still almost invisible.

Thanks. I ended up rebooting for a completely unrelated reason, and when I was booted the network icon worked. For the volume icon, I just changed it in the app's preferences to the blue bar icon. It looks OK with Faenza imo, so it's good for now.

As someone here once said ..."Face, meet desk!" Such an obvious solution to restore my volume icon

Ooooops, sorry, me again. Changed back to Gnome icons, were tired of the very white wireless, clipboard and volume icons. Five minutes later I`m back on Faenza again. Corenominal, I`ll let you decide, promise to use whatever you put as default choice. I`m so indecisive when it comes to stuff like this.

Any chance of instructions or a package for those of us on Statler? I like the look of those.

I second El_K's ACYL comment; they're all I use.

@drewdle,
you can download the icons manually and put it here . ~/.local/share/icons
@corenominal,
i have changed the faenza trash icon with the faience icon, i think it looks better than the one in faenza.

Isn't it ~/.icons?

@ corenominal, a small bug found in the notification icons

What omns says although it's probably not as noticeable on my 10", i still see it
With both icons set (default and dark), the volume icon turns from black to white to black ... each time i press it (which is very weird)
Looks all good apart from that!

On left click it mutes the volume and to reflect that the icon changes colour. Nothing weird about that
And I confirm the problem - in dark theme the volume icon is not changed to suit the rest of the icons. I still haven't tried to reboot, though...

Is it incorrect, or just the default one from the possible theme choices? (See ^EndlessDissent)
Or is alsamixer choosing them from installed themes?
EDIT alsamixer installs 4 icon sets - I bet the default is chosen alphabetically, ie Black Gnome, after an upgrade

^ It's showing the 'Default' black icon. None of the choices in preferences are related to the Faenza set.

I noticed that. Anyone know why alsamixer is over-riding the icon themes (it's the same for the other icon sets I have installed)?

I temporarily switched to the Faenza & FaenzaWolfe icon sets from deviantART and my volume icon showed correctly - i.e, I don't have a problem with other icon sets like @damo...
