Welcome, Thunderdrop, and it's great to see kids getting involved -- my daughter, now a teenager, installed Debian on her iMac when she was 9 (I was watching over her shoulder from start to finish and just answering questions) and has she been using a variety of distros ever since (she uses Ubuntu 10.04 LTS now, which breaks my heart -- just kidding).
You mention an uncle -- is he a CrunchBang user?
