If this has been mentioned earlier, sorry, but 30GB free online storage is worth consideration. Do not now anything about this site though. They claim that it works with Linux, personally I do not have use for this...
but maybe someone else has?

^Slayer guitar might be quite effective. (Military trumpet won't wake me up, they are not in use in finnish army. Smell of  a smoking sleeping bag fabric will do.)

That's sick. Nothing to do with where they come from, btw. Hope this is not a new kind of sports.

Re: the cool random internet stuff thread 1.0

@gurtid, no problem. @sage and bacon, now that the shock has worn off and I think about this, I'm actually OK with it. It's taxidermy in general itself and especially of one's deceased pets that I find completely offensive. If you're going to stuff your dead cat and keep it around, you might as well put servos on it and fly it around too, right? Although I do find the idea of a stuffed flying Rottweiler buzzing by my head particularly terrifying.

Re: the cool random internet stuff thread 1.0

@hhh: it is an art-project, and it's the guy's own deceased cat, whom he loved very much. indeed, taxidermy is considered 'normal' but when somebody makes a helicopter out of it, suddenly it is shocking. also, as he himself points out, it is just processed skin, your leather boots or bag or whatnot is just the same, just made unrecognizable.

props to him for raising some questions!

So if it's a cat it's okay, but if it's my grandfather? neutral

Re: the cool random internet stuff thread 1.0

^ well, people's skins aren't generally used for leather, and neither are they taxidermied (or something) very often (all exceptions made by Jeffrey Dahmer of course). so if you did this with your grandfather, that would certainly be raising a whole bunch of new questions smile

It's indeed an ungly case of double standard. How come when it's us it's abortion, but when it's a chicken it's an omlet?

Re: the cool random internet stuff thread 1.0

@machinebacon: animals are used for leather. cats are generally seen as pets and therefore there's a bit of a taboo on doing 'bad' things to them. but what's the difference between a cat and a pig, in this matter?

we can discuss this into eternity i think... some people are just disgusted by it, others love it, others don't care. art in a nutshell smile

Re: the cool random internet stuff thread 1.0

There is no difference.

Means: I would also find the idea sick if this would be a pig. Or a horse. Or a dog. Or my Grandfather.

Re: the cool random internet stuff thread 1.0

@mb: so where would you draw the line as to what you can and cannot do with a dead animal? i mean, i have no idea if you're a vegan or vegetarian or whatever. i used to be a vegetarian myself, and still hold pretty much the same ideas and principles. but because this is, to me, essentially the same thing as wearing a dead animal on your feet, or having it as a couch, or whatever other stuff they make with leather, i don't feel it is sick. of course, if i would feel it was sick, i'd also have to feel it was sick to use leather or any other type of animal product for whatever reason. i used to feel like that, but i suppose the supposed normality of that made me a bit numb in this regard. so i suppose it depends on how sensitive you allow yourself to be about this. i'm not saying there's anything wrong with this sensitivity, it is simply a different choice (imo).
