Great Experience so Far (Distro & People)

I'm relatively new to Linux overall I guess. Distro hopping and seeing what can be done and figuring out this and that and exploring the "culture" has been great. And it's basically all I've been doing the last few months while I'm free from classes.

This is the first Linux-related forum that I've signed up for, and I just want to say what a great community I think there is here. You guys are just great. Very relaxed environment, nice people who know what they're talking about, aren't too critical about the fact that they do, and don't care to help you figure out what you're talking about too haha.

Let's not forget #! itself, though. I didn't know much about Debian, nor had any reason to go in this direction yet (had been using non-Debian Mint mostly, which I think is wonderfull for new Linux users). But I am just so satisfied with this distro. For me, it is the perfect balance of useability with just enough edge to keep making you learn more and more. I wouldn't have signed up for this forum if I didn't think I was sticking with this distro for a long time, lets just say that.

I love the flexability and stability of Debian and Openbox. Not to mention how great it looks right out of the box. I mean, I installed Crunchbang on my grandmother's old computer. She's probably using it to very capably browse Facebook this very moment (but seriously, it worked out very well as I needed something lightweight and practical for her).

Anyway, I'll try to get up a shot of what I've got going on at the moment.PunBB bbcode test

Re: Great Experience so Far (Distro & People)

Hello Monsieur,

that's how we love it - an introduction with a screenshot, and best of all, from Virginia (yeah, smoker here big_smile )

You are officially and unofficially welcome to the best forums about Crunchbang,

feel free to ask if something is unclear or if you encounter problems (which is actually impossible, because Crunchbang is soooo good, it never ever breaks wink )

Many of us have other distros installed beside #!, some even don't use Debian at all and just come here because we are so good-looking big_smile So don't be ashamed if you are dual-booter, distrohopper or secretly write from Windows Vista.

Have a good stay, you're a part of us!

Howdy! You are well come indeed.

I think you'll have a blast in the screenshots thread.

^ That's funny, I usually skip intros from people with less than 2 posts big_smile
