Hi,
I can't resume back into XFCE from sleep mode. I can only get into a tty session. From there I can't get back into xfce either. Any clues?
using xfce 4.10 with tint2 panel

Enabled power manager and saw the same thing... But I do not think it is a xfce issue...
Do you use lightdm? If yes, then that is the issue... Will wait for confirmation before I go on.

Yea I use lightdm. Bummer. Can you recommend any other light login manager that gives me a drop down list of window managers and power buttons?

^ Rather than that... Lets try to get to the bottom of this issue with lightdm, smxi and now xfce4 power manager ...
Calling on machinebacon and xaos52 for some help.
I have searched and it may be related to the console-kit-daemon not running or not running correctly...
Not much info on google about it but I have not hit the right search parameters most likely.
Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it...

Thanks I mainly use my laptop plugged in and it only sleeps when I'm on battery and I close the lid. So I can wait.

I do not use Xfce but I use its power manager. The sleep mode works perfectly here on the version from Xfce 4.8 under Sid.
Is xscreensaver running just in case?
And of course what @VastMaster said.

It wasn't running until I launched screensaver setting and it prompted me to enable it. I'll see if that was the problem.

In Statler, the timeouts for xfce4-power-manager and xscreensaver are the same (10 min to blank screen/suspend); If you'd prefer power management to idle eyecandy, I'd suggest disabling screensaver and letting xfce4-power-manager handle things.
while ( ! ( succeed = try() ) );
