It's about time!

I've oft been told by my comp sci friends that I need to switch to Linux, but I always dismissed the notion as Windows has been "good enough" so far for what I need.

It seems that the push I needed to make the switch was the desire to fit a useful computer into my mini messenger bag XD I ended up switching my eee pc 1000 HD from XP to #!, and oh mah gawd, this is amazing!

For starters, this "crappy"(or so I thought) little computer is actually useful again. And not just useful! I'm having a blast using it! So much so that I've been all but ignoring my Thinkpad with Windows 7 on it for the past couple days.

I could gush about how awesome #! is for hours, but I'll refrain as I'm sure you all already know how awesome it is It's kind of a fluke that I ended up here, but boy am I glad for it! XD

I love #! because it's dark, sleek, sexy, slim, fast, and subtly powerful.

I love the first boot script.  I love the muppets.  I love corenominal's dry humor.  I love that Rebecca's version is called Wifebang.

Welcome to #! Music Hall, johabi!  We have quite a lineup rotating through the stage; always something interesting to listen to.

Aren't netbooks great with Linux??  I bought my Dell Mini 9 with Dellbuntu 8.04, quickly ditched that for Ubuntu Intrepid, and started looking for something lighter after Jaunty came out and started to get laggy.  Didn't take much searching to find CrunchBang.
