Edit, this link is no longer valid.
Found this for those who may be interested in adding a PPA to the Debian Repositories
Enjoy the carnage..

Hmm, in my experience, it's safer to go from Stable to Sid than to add a PPA.
Dunno really, I've never really gone far with PPAs, even during my short stint with Ubuntu and #! 9.04.
For Debian, if Sid and Experimental didn't cut it, I've always relied on repos from this (albeit outdated) list:
http://sites.google.com/site/mydebiansourceslist/
...or I just built from source.
Still, some people prefer a bullet over a noose, some prefer jumping off a building over C02 poisoning, so I guess some would prefer PPAs over Unstable. Some prefer looking at Cher over getting punched by Tyson. Horses for courses, I guess.

Personally, I'd not use it but thought to mention your link doesn't work for me...

^Oh yeah, forgot to mention that. you gotta edit the "=http" bit at the beginning of the line until V1 fixes the linkage.

Rather than add some unknown person's repository to your sources-list, why not just go and grab the deb file for whatever it is you wanted? With the whole repo linked in there's nothing stopping them from adding their own version of some app you use, so that you innocently upgrade to it...

I agree John, and do that all the time...
This is just a posting of a new method of doing it by someone who has contributed a lot to Debian, nothing more.
And perhaps a link for the next person(s) looking to add a PPA to Debian

But this is rich, a forum member, and unless my memory fails me completely, developer of DreamLinux.

@dubois ( good to see you back btw
) Yes I remember rich from these forums, and other useful stuff he's posted. I have no intention of suggesting for a moment that he might try something shady. None at all.
But what we're talking about here is not rich's repository (if he has one), but a handy script for adding any PPA repository to your apt sources. Handy maybe, but the issues around adding PPAs to a Debian system have already been well discussed by more learned people than me.
