Which OB Theme are you using?

I searched the forums for the words "which" "openbox" "theme" and didn't find anything useful, so I thought I'd start this. (Mods: please trash this if it already exists.)

The OB Configuration Manager includes lots of themes. I've always just used the default "Statler" theme on #! Statler. I've started trying out others and some are quite cool smile Any favourites? Does anybody change their OB theme?

PS: I'm using "Fog" at the moment, but the "Onyx" ones are cool and so is "Seven" smile

Re: Which OB Theme are you using?

Well big_smile This changes nearly every third or forth day. Waldorf is high on the list, as well as the Dyna, Mire and Simple decorations.

Tip & Trick: big_smile There in obconf you can remove the Labels (NMLC or what there is, just remove everything but the C) and make the size of the font ~3 or 4px (tastes differ), then you have a sexy slim bar with a single button. To maximize/restore you can double-click the decoration, or scroll on it with the mouse wheel.

Re: Which OB Theme are you using?

My favourite are Waldorf and Clearlooks.

Edit: forgot to mention the great shiki-statler

I don't have Waldorf theme on Stater big_smile Just as well -- it must be a theme that is earned by actually installing Waldorf!

Change around a little bit, but I always end up with the default one.

Default is "DSLIMC". Your suggestion is cool but maybe "LC" is more pratical -- L for the window name. Or "CL" for that Ubuntu look smile I left fonts at 10pt so that I can actually read the window title. Nice tip though smile

No! I was hoping you wouldn't do that! Now I have to try it out smile Tested Waldorf from a Live USB and loved the theme but haven't installed Waldorf yet.

Re: Which OB Theme are you using?

I always change my old flat OB theme to match the current GTK theme:
tZHM0bA
Windows are usually undecorated and I rarely use the menu, so all that really counts are window borders and osd-settings of the theme.

Re: Which OB Theme are you using?

@Wolfy The "joke" about it is actually to remove the label in the deco, but to have the label (no icon) shown in tint2. big_smile I additionally change tint2 so that right-click -> close window. Then you don't even need to point and shoot in that tiny window decoration big_smile

Re: Which OB Theme are you using?

I was using my own for a while.  Stopped on an update at some point.  Now I use something gray and subdued, probably waldorf.

Re: Which OB Theme are you using?

My current set up uses Night Running ob theme (which is pretty wide but I like the look). The Moka / Breathe Royalty / Laza / Surreal ob themes are interesting too.

Re: Which OB Theme are you using?

At the moment I use the default Openbox theme in Waldorf. Actually outside of a few very minor compositing, tint2 and conky tweaks I'm pretty much just running the default Waldorf settings. I think it's easily the nicest default so far smile

Re: Which OB Theme are you using?

Where do all the default themes in OBconf come from? It's great that there are so many to choose from.

Re: Which OB Theme are you using?

I like the default theme a lot, but for some months I use Mire Lime. And built a minimal conky to match the lime colors. very happy with this. looks dark with a fresh twist.

closing windows in tint2 is cool, I use middle click though.

Re: Which OB Theme are you using?

I stole the shiki-statler theme off one of my statler installs and am using that on my waldorf machine too... I much prefer the old dot window controls and black titlebars.
