Just thought I would introduce myself.
My name is Simon and I am new to #!
I have been trying several distros recently and settled on #! after I installed Statler on a 2003 vintage Sony Vaio about a month ago and everything just worked. Even the ASUS USB N-13 Wi-Fi Dongle which had caused a load of grief with all the other distros I had tried!
The Vaio runs really well even with it's old Pentium 4 mobile CPU and 1GB RAM (it does have a 16" 1600x1200 screen though which is massive compared to most modern laptop screens)
I then installed Statler on my main laptop (Acer Aspire 4920) alongside a Win7 partition.
Since then I have been using #! almost exclusively at home only booting into Win7 when I need to RDP onto my machine at work - I have yet to find an RDP client which supports rdgateway so I am stuck with the Win7 partition for now.
Anyway I think I will be sticking with #! for a while as it seems to do everything I want of it so far and do it faster than the existing OS on the laptop.
