F.lux is a program that changes the color temperature of your monitor based on the time of day. At night you will get a more orange, warm temperature. This makes using Crunchbang, or any OS for that matter easier on your eyes at night.
To install:
wget http://secure.herf.org/flux/xflux.tgz
tar -xvzf xflux.tgz
sudo cp xflux /usr/local/bin
sudo chmod 755 /usr/local/bin/xfluxto run:
xflux -z zipcode
xflux -l lat -g longI've added "xflux -z 03079", for example, to Openbox' autostart. I've been using F.lux for over a year now, and it really does make a huge difference for me.

Honestly speaking, I have discovered redshift thanks to fellow user Sunfizz in one of his scripts.

f.lux gives a more natural incadescent orange glow whereas redshift gives a red glow. Both help prevent your retinas from burning at night. Both are great apps.
I don't normally use windows, but when I do, I use f.lux.

Same for me.
At first glance it seemed way to red for my taste, but I used it for several hours nonetheless and was impressed.
It will definately find its way on my desktop.

@sunfizz98
I set my location and it worked flawlessly.
It is just very red, but I don't mind.
As far as I know it would not even work without setting your location.

ConnorCG, ty for sharing this with us !
being deeply interested in user-friendly interfaces, ergonomics and human-centered GUI design, i've installed this yesterday afternoon and found to like it quite a lot !
CBizgreat!, i know exactly what you're talking about.
technology must adapt to humans, and not vice-versa, like many people tend to think.
this is a perfect example. a simple, yet very useful tool.
