maybe because he's tested it for a short while and had a quick browse of the packages with dpkg --list
and reviews arnt all about the software changes from one version to the next, what about performance differences, any changes to the look and feel.
I personally only read the changes to waldorf from statler, after i had downloaded it, and fired it up in virtualbox, i guess excitement for the better of me
*Edit*
Just made it more legible, in case the grammar nazis complain.

From the same author comes gtk-logout (https://github.com/ju1ius/gtk-logout) a beautiful application to logout/shutdown/restart/etc
Maybe Philip could look at it as an alternative of cb-exit.Sounds interesting. Where can we find scrots to see just how beautiful it is?
You're right, actually there are no scrots on the github account.
Here's one from my netbook:
You can set various parameters, like transparency, icon theme, bla bla, plus, obviously, the commands to associate with the buttons (buttons that you can also remove, for example if you do not hibernate).
Sorry for not providing an image sooner.

^ That does look cool. Like #! but with icons for the buttons

Only drawback that I have found so far: you cannot switch between the button with the arrow keys, using the pointer is needed.

Hey guys,
From the looks of it waldorf is a great release! I'll have to try it as soon as I get a chance. I've been using startler with stable + backports... (on accident btw, I read the stickies thanks) I found that the stable releases aren't up to snuff with the latest stuff... I switched to Arch Linux becasue of their bleeding edge attitude toward there release cycle and I learned a lot during the setup... a lot... I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about how there system is setup. You begin to understand why chrunchbang is great choice.
The whole point of arch... (for me at least) was to build a even lighter system than crunchbang or other distro's which isn't that much lighter if at all if you want the same functionality... It became vary apparent to me as built my installation from scratch. I was using the same stuff I was using in crunch... and the performance was nearly Identical... It doesn't matter what you use its still the linux kernel... just with a package management system and various programs to aide as an avenue between your hardware and your applications. (It's a little more complex than that if you break it down I know... but from simplistic standpoint...)
The fact of the matter is #! is the lightweight system that "works" ... If it wasn't for #! we'd all be spending our lives installing a base debian system and installing everything else manually to get a light weight system... downloading... waiting... installing... configuring... hours of time you could of been playing with your children... and even then you've got some issue with your trashcan not working... and your life is waiting for you... and you just have to figure out why it doesn't work... then it hits you... !@#$
So after all that I'm back to #! , I just want to thank our dev for doing such a good job I'm sure its a lot of work. I've been using #! since the chruncheee release you made back during the ubuntu days... I think I even wrote a review for it. I think I even got paid like $2 bucks for it... lol... I still have it in a paypal account... I suppose I'll donate it... lol!
anyways I regress... I'm looking forward to installing this new release. I'm expecting good things... stay tuned...

i get 110/117 mb ram on both, man
same hardware. i even notice that waldorf is a bit less hw intensive. even so, 110mb of ram is still almost freaking nothing!

This review of Kubuntu 12.04 Live reports RAM usage of 700MB

^ I read it but hell, that is so much that I even would not believe it.

^ Yes. He has received some criticism for doing reviews of Live systems rather than installing them. I don't know if the RAM usage would be different in an installed system.

@SabreWolfy I installed it in Vbox, and at idle it only uses 250MB ram
And i only allocated the machine 1GB

Interesting. 250MB is not bad for Kubuntu/KDE idling. No idea why he says it was using 700MB.

My Wheezy+KDE took around 160~180 MB at startup...honestly 700mb is really a joke.

Sounds awesome. I'll have to try it out when I get some free time. I'm not sure how I feel about Pulse, though. Pulse has never played nice with me and flash
Slightly off-topic:
I got bored and decided to try PEP8 out on Waldorf's cb-exit. Result: cb-exit with improved PEP8 compliance
I thought I might as well post it since I already did it instead of letting it sit in my folder.
EDIT: Removed confusing rambling.

Install of Waldorf, taking it to Sid, install of smxi, install of Liquorix latest kernel, install of nVidia all went perfectly without a single setback... in 35 minutes
And all working perfectly...
