Hi, sorry if this topic has been covered in the past, I just could not locate any good keywords that would allow me to find it.
I am running CrunchBang off my USB drive.
When I try to run the install from the bootup off the USB, I dont thing CrunchBang recognizes my monitor because it just displays these small boxes at the top of the scrren that I think are instructions, but they are all scrunched up so I cannot see them
Anyway.... I can run it fine off the USB, but would really like to install it perm on my machine, is there a way to run the installer while booted into the OS from the USB drive?
Thanks!
Zach

Hello Zach,
there's no install option when #! is booted, so you need to choose "Install" from the GRUB menu. The thing you describe can be fixed, but depends on your hardware. You need to edit the kernel boot line and add kernel boot parameters (press 'e' and then scroll to the part where you see ro single or something like this). Try to add following boot parameters:
radeon.modeset=1or
radeon.modeset=0 or
fb=falsePress Ctrl-x or F10 to boot then.

Machinebacon,
After re-launching the install from the USB.... I went ahead and did the Text install, and it worked like a champ. I had no issues with the resolution.
This monitor is a Hanns-G and I think its just funky.
I am up and running thanks for the help! - I couldnt find where I could change the title to "Resolved" but this has been fixed.
Thanks!

bzachd -- As the person who started the thread, you should be able to just go to the subject line and edit it. Give that a shot.
