Good point, the text is small.
> ('mnm1' could also be on a new line)
There would just be too much clutter, its either the asterisk or the text.
Here is '3' with bigger text. Thanks for the feedback

A design point could be to make the "screens" in proportion to screen resolutions, so a bit more rectangular?
And kern the el so that it's a bit closer to the em? (Yeah, I know it's a monospace font, but it would look more "designer"
)
Asterix between the em and el? - keeps it monospace as well then

I still like Peachy's the best.
It's the most no-nonsense, to-the-point of the bunch. Doesn't try too hard, yet doesn't give a f*ck. Total anti-design win!!
The hinting/smoothing needs to go, though. Edit: Oh wait, that's just due to the resized thumbnail.
Looks sharp enough. The "L" is a tad too narrow in comparison to the other alphabets, imho.
Second fave would be Falkkon's. Personally I'd prefer non-rounded edges and a less curvy pixel font, fixed-width spacing of course. Screw design sensibilities!!

Sure, the more people that give feedback the easier it is for me, also I'm quite new here and I wasn't aware of your reputation hehe

sorry, it.s 330 in the morning and i.m jet-lagged so i.m gonna throw in my unsolicited 2 cents: fallkon, i think you were on track with that cropped asterisk / arrow. very cool. my only misgiving was the font. so i threw this together based on your original...:
ps: the grey bkgd is only there so you can see the logo against the forum.s black bkgd.

Wow! That's really, really good, I especially like what you did with the 'L', really nice work
, I guess we'll just have to wait for xeNULL and see what he thinks.

i guess because of the jet-lag, i didn.t realize this thread had grown to two pages. i didn.t even see that you had changed the font--now THAT one i like. it.s a trip that you capitalized the "L" too--i thought i was 'innovating' that idea last night...!

^ rather small. v mnml.
was just going to leave it as text, but the bracket underline kinda exentuates the smilie hiding in it, waving. i like. ;]
oh, i suppose you'd like a larger one too... sorta web sized, right?
one slightly squidged,
and one in original ratio.
and was it mention of backgrounds i read back there, and minimal? well, hrmm... here's 5 of em for you. ^_^

XeNull dropped this distro some time ago. You're posting in a dead thread.

ok so the mnml distro lost it's project leader. looks like we're a leaderless community distro now. ^_^
we have some graphics, a distro outline, and some vaporware... we're well on the way.
we could even just use quickie as a base. it's the closest thing i can think of. ^_^ less distance to go.

I quite like the new LinuxBBQ distro for people looking for a more minimalist approach http://www.linuxbbq.co.cc/

Nothing really to do with the origins of this thread, but talking small usable distros, have a look at SliTaz.
