nvidia driver, how to install, synaptic?

when I use the detect-nvidia utility, I get this message.

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation G98 [GeForce 8400GS] [10de:10c3] (rev a2)
Uh oh. Your card is only supported by a newer version of the current drivers series.

How can I install on the latest CB, 64bit?  In ubuntu, lots of issues with the latest driver, so I want to use CB.

thanks in advance.

Have you followed this guide all the way through?

If you did, were there any steps you missed out, or got errors with?
