Any rtorrenters around? I just set it up and got it working for the first time last night and was wondering if anyone had any tips and tricks for it, or nice things I could add to my config file for it?
I'm definitely not hitting my max speed, which is annoying
I'll have to keep messing with settings for that.
Does anyone know what some good settings would be if I've got 25 Mbps down and 25Mpbs up? My desktop hits what I have it throttled at (95% of my download speed) no problem usually, and my netbook stopped at ~800KB (Where it should be hitting well past 1000 at least
)
Maybe it's my wireless connection limiting me.
Also, how to make it look colorful? Mine is a little bland

If you think it may be related to dns name resolution you may try this if you haven't done it. Debian seems to have added it to newer installs, whether as an update or not I don't know.

I could be wrong but 800kBps sounds to be the speed of wireless G. I know B is around 400KBps.
Windows free since Crunchbang 8.10!

Yeah, stuff like this!
That's exactly what I want!
And I figured that would be on par with wireless G. D: Don't honestly plan on using the netbook for torrents, just getting used to using rtorrent for when I fix my server box. Then it's getting a debian install and I'm planning on using it for backups, torrents, and media in general.

I wanna know how you color rtorrent too!

#active_bg_color = 5
# echo "Colors: 0 = black 1 = red 2 = green 3 = yellow 4 = blue 5 = magenta 6 = cyan 7 = white"

More colors in less screen estate:
Easy Debian compile (one script, takes nearly no human time at all):

Would anyone that's using pyroscope be willing to type of a an extremely easy to follow tutorial? I've been struggling with it and cannot get it to work.
I'm wanting to get it where when I start rtorrent, pyroscope will pop up as well.
Thanks for any help with this.
We are a nice, friendly community here and I hope we stay that way.

There is nothing to "pop up" really. Anyway, how it looks in action...

I've used rtorrent on an Ubuntu 10.04 LTS box and it's worked well. I've now installed it on my #! Statler box to download Humble Indie Bundle, but it just reports that it cannot connect to the server (tracker). Opening the same .torrent file in transmission is fine -- transmission starts downloading it, so it's something to do with rtorrent. I just installed it from the repos. Some searching suggested updating libcurl or curl ... ?

^ This appears to have resolved itself somehow, as rtorrent is now downloading.
