I must admit that I'm tempted to try it out, but I drag and drop files a lot and spectrwm doesn't look like a good choice for that kind of thing.

^ What? It is a tiler, it works perfectly for drag'n'drop if you want to use a GUI file manager. Then you even do not need tabs in the file manager.

you could argue that it works better than a nontiling wm for drag and drop since you dont have to juggle windows!
