is there a way to get borders/titlebars in i3? i tried 'new_window 1pixel' and 'none', but didn't seem to work.

If new_window normal, doesn't do the trick then I think no.

Fabulous!!
i3 is one of those WMs I never got around to trying in depth. No idea why that was or what put me off formerly.
Thinking of giving it another go now. Do we have an i3 thread here yet? Anyways, I'll check the Arch and Gentoo wikis as well as the project site documentation.
Gensym, would you mind pastebinning your ~/.i3/config for me to look at?
If possible, use Sprunge .... install curl (just one tiny package) if you don't have it and do
cat ~/.i3/config | curl -F 'sprunge=<-' http://sprunge.us..and then just post the generated link here. That way I can quickly open it with vim
Thanks in advance
You too, mate. Post em configs (see above). Thanx.

@gutterslob
http://sprunge.us/cFeN # i3 config

(if you use urxvt, change the client background to your term background color to hide weird gaps around edges)

I just started the #! i3 thread. The more I use it, the more I like it.

@Tripple H - for a split second I thought that was Mel Gibson on your scrot.
Here we go. dwm is configured to the max now, so there's nothing to have fun with. I guess the next step is to learn C and start coding my own patches. GTK is Minull Invert, dwm and Xdef colors are made to match, I call them Minull Invert Negative.

You should of made the fonts and logo orange, then it would look like the terminals you seen all around aperture science.
