Ubuntu actually does have daily builds of the 12.04, and of every next version respectively, as far as I know. But anyway, that's not what you go the Debian/Crunchbang for. Debian stable will never be close to be cutting edge but it comes with benefits. I'm glad Crunchbang follows the "Debian stable philosophy".
