hi i have a old edition dell m1210 that now runs crunchbang. it worked like a charm. I booted it from pendrive. The machine is configured not to boot anything from USB at cold start even if you change the boot order in the boot menu. A work around is that you have to log into windows first and then click restart to boot from pendrive. Hope it helps.
And last but not the least, I'm Prasana Venkat Ramesh from India, computer science engineer at st.joseph's college of engineering.

Thanks guys. I really do like crunchbang ...! A little note to developers. Ubuntu was the best. Then they brought unity and stuff normal desktop users really don't want. Like the Multiple desktop support. Like the fact that you are forced to use their cloud storage ( Installed by default) These are the things that made me look for a different distro. I've been using Ubuntu for like 2 years now. So I decided to look for debian distros and ended up with crunchBang. If i have not been looking for #! then i would not have found it. Please try to popularize the distro a bit so that a lot of ppl will shift from Ubuntu to #!. Many ppl will not install Ubuntu 12.04. I can give you assurance so you can try to attract that audience by pointing out the fact that #! is based on debian and has a nice look and feel

Please, no.
Anyway #! will never be that popular as Ubuntu. #! is a niche distro and a very good one. Minimalism is not that popular either.
#! has not to fight Ubuntu's bug #1 and I think that is a good thing.

Welcome to #!, Prasana! This is an amazing OS!.
Ivanovnegro, I think #! can be really popular, just need a little of publicity, because one of the things that keep people using ubuntu is their publicity; I think most the usage of ubuntu comes like a 80% because the publicity.
The same thing like windows. Windows sustain the publicity. If you realize the peoble believe more the publicity of some product that the really benefit that the product bring from theirs.

^ Yeah, but then we'll be flooded with posts like "How do I make #! look more like Ubuntu?" and "I could do this in Ubuntu, why can't I do it in #!?" And the always fun "You can't tell me how to do this in 15 minutes, and I can't figure out how to do it myself, so I'm going back to Mint!" #! doesn't need to be "popular."

^ Exactly! Of course all a bit with fun.
#! is already very popular among users such like we are. We have more monthly screenshots than Ubuntu.
Marketing is for companies. I always go crazy about this market share nonsense. If you are happy with what you have, all is good.

HAHAHAHAHA, I just would paid to see that kind of things, maybe I should go tu Ubuntu Forum and Laugh hard some hour!!!

I would like to be popular not for being like windows with publicity and so. It's because have a good product that is simple and work well. "That's all Folks" like the pgi of looney tunes said!!XDDDD

Despite Disclaimers from our Dev, I am coming into my 6th month installed and #! continues to be very reliable.
....But yeah... Quick isn't it..
