>aurgha< [Must not... take.... easiest... shot.... EVER... about ... Sector11's age!!!] Synapses misfiring, blood vessels bursting - it hurts when I try to keep the smart-ass in check. wink

Happy Belated Birthday merelyjim ... we'll have a java later!

43 huh!! And had go through this posture that you gotta hold that smart-ass in check because it's just to easy.  More likely because you can't think of anything to say without leaving an opening to come back and bite ya in the butt!

Let me tell ya a story:

An old prospector, Sector11, shuffled into town leading an old tired mule and headed straight for the only saloon in town to clear his parched throat. He walked up and tied his old mule to the hitch rail. As he stood there, brushing some of the dust from his face and clothes, a young gunslinger, merelyjim, stepped out of the saloon with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whisky in the other.

The young gunslinger looked at the old man and laughed, saying, "Hey old man, have you ever danced?"

The old man looked up at the gunslinger and said, "No, I never did dance... never really wanted to."

A crowd had gathered as the gunslinger grinned and said, "Well, you old fool, you're gonna dance now," and started shooting at the old man's feet.

The old prospector --not wanting to get a toe blown off-- started hopping around like a flea on a hot skillet. Everybody was laughing, fit to be tied.

When his last bullet had been fired, the young gunslinger, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon.

The old man turned to his pack mule, pulled out a double-barreled shotgun, and cocked both hammers.

The loud clicks carried clearly through the desert air. The crowd stopped laughing immediately.

The young gunslinger heard the sounds too, and he turned around very slowly. The silence was almost deafening.

The crowd watched as the young gunman stared at the old timer and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels.

The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in the old man's hands, as he quietly said, "Son, have you ever kissed a mule's ass?"

merelyjim swallowed hard and said, "No sir..... but... I've always wanted to."

There are a few lessons for us all here:

  • Never be arrogant.

  • Don't waste ammunition.

  • Whisky makes you think you're smarter than you are.

  • Always, always make sure you know who has the power.

  • Don't mess with old men, they didn't get old by being stupid.

Without a doubt!

But, I just had a birthday last week, (43 now), and my older brothers and I have been sniping at each other via e-mail the whole week, so I've been sort of conditioned to take as many shots as I can before they get in all of theirs...

Sector11 is just extended family, in a way. Except Canadian...

Same for me and S11 as extended family..

Mine is at the end of this month... When I turn both 13 and 52...

Couple of young whipper snappers is what you two is!!

VastOne has no idea if he a teeny-bopper or a old man, you're a young dinosaur, just ask your son, he'll tell ya.

Now we have merlyjim, the poor guy, he's at that age where his get-up-and-go has got-up-and-gone only he doesn't believe it yet. Just ask that sexy young thing in the corner of the coffee shop, she'll tell ya.  Very confusing decade the 40's.

Yupper ... the fresh hand ground stuff!
And we don't have to wait for merelyjim nor VastOne either, but we could be gentlemen and do so.

Sometimes, I just love the Brits, who can petition their government to just about anything... Despite the whole, you know, rebellion thing over 200 years ago with what would become the United States.

A more intelligent video would have been the whole gut spill then him donating it.  That would have melted some immature dome right there.

PLUS: not paying for software and using a FOSS alternative.
