Welcome Pedra!  Are you talking about the obmenu and not the tint2?

Re: help Openbox

1. install xcompmgr or cairo-compmgr
2. read the manpage of xcompmgr on how to configure it or run cairo-compmgr (either one of them in the autostart) and check the options menu of cairo (sits in the tray).
3. As most Debian users (crunchbangers) won't know, what's going on with composit managers in the new Ubuntu, you should ask your question in an Ubuntu forum.

Re: help Openbox

That effect is called a colour gradient, you might like to try a program called obtheme:

Re: help Openbox

Install the patched version of xcompmgr, called xcompmgr-dana from the repos, and read the manpage.

Re: help Openbox

If what you want is the gradient effect, looky at this from the Operation theme (comes with CrunchBang Statler):

menu.items.bg: flat crossdiagonal gradient
menu.items.bg.color: grey50
menu.items.bg.colorTo: grey80
menu.items.text.color: grey20
menu.items.disabled.text.color: grey40
menu.items.justify: center

If you want a gradient that just goes from left to right, I think you want to change "crossdiagonal" to "horizontal".

Re: help Openbox

Sorry...bit of a communication problem...

If you want the menu background transparent, I think your only option in Openbox is to use one of the compositing managers.
