Yea I had that problem too, I turned the plugin: "Snippets" off that seemed to fix it.

For what it's worth; I downloaded the 32-bit image some hours ago. The speed was good, it took half an hour to complete.

My upload says it's popular as well, this topic explains why wink I'll keep seeding it, will get the 64-bit version too.

just booted into the new statler release and absolutely love it. The new theme reminds of the 9.04 release. So good. Gonna go ahead and install my fvwm package and get a theme around this new statler gtk theme Yipee. I must say my favorite addition is geany being my gui editor of choice and the revertion to iceweasel... big TY Phillip and Bex. I guess Philip for doing it and Bex for putting up with him hacking on his distro.

I would have thought the "amd64" version would be more popular ... guess I'm wrong.

Hope it's worth it big_smile So the changes are slim for gdm, geany for gedit - basically get rid of gtk3-dependants? What about openbox-logout-script? Can anybody check if it still depends on gdm?

You can certainly get rid of gdm prerequisites on openbox-logout using hal/dbus and pm-utils thogh I've not investigated how phil's done it yet. Yeah, I suspect a lot of weary next gen desktop users taking note of this release. I mean, latest browsers and what not, it's gonna attract some attention as how you can do this and no succomb to the big distro's transition. An interesting concept.

openbox-logout is now now cb-exit (kuddos on the cb)

yah, it looks like its using direct hal commands over gdm now

d/l'ng 32bit and 64bit versions right now...has Corenominal notified distrowatch.com about the new build? That would be a good way to get more non-#!ers to check it out.

Just apply the regular updates. It's a new image, not a new release.

My understanding is that there are other changes as well -- a different look, some changed default applications, etc. I don't think a new image which is nothing more than bundling up the regular updates, would be worth all the "effort" and bandwidth of making it and then seeding it, etc.

Anyone notice how fast the boot is? Seems to be much faster now. I don't even have time to eat a bite of Nutella bread while it's at it lol
The new theme is awesome as well, and no Iceweasel problems here either. Actually, I was surprised how well it works.
