I should watch Cowboy Bebop again. Currently catching up on Bleach.

Bebop is pretty much one of the best animes ever. I should really catch up on it. The music is great in Bebop.

@sunfizz yah dead leaves really melts your dome. I watched it very intoxicated before. Its a tad crude for my taste but.I know some of that is simply cultural differences. I think I've actually had some dead leaves related dreams since.
If y'all like bebop I highly recommend outlaw star. Its really underrated. Also angel links for adventure in the same universe. Just. Something about Jim on that cactus episode gets me verytime. Ohio my first Linux box back in 04 was the xgp15a-ii. I even did a custom automotive paint job on it with the kei pirate dragon in gold. The optical drives had military stenciling denoting DVD and DVD-r. The while rig was Chevrolet red wig a window my fund Thomas and I cut out with a dremmel and installeed plexy glass. I wanted to put melfina transparency on it but it never worked out.
Sorry some Android.related typos there. Damn auto-complete.

Oh shit, has anyone else seen Paprika?
Offline
^Yes I have and it was a great experience.
@rstcogburn
Yeah, my friend is a huge fan of outlaw star. I never got into it in highschool, but I'll have to revisit that avenue to see if it fits the bill. Oh how I love AniDB with their user tags and categories for animes. Also ironic how the recommendations you made was also suggested on AniDB. Will look into these animes in a week or so.

That's quite some taste you got there (and it sounds right up my alley). By Deep Blue, did you mean Deep Blue Fleet? Also, did you watch Treasure Town? It's related to Tekkon Kinkreet.
No I didn't! Looking it up now yippee. I love that konkinkreet!

Does Teen Titans count as anime? How about Batman Beyond? I know they're both Warner Bros. properties, but they're at least anime-inspired.
Thanks to Adult Swim, I've started to get into Durarara lately. Celty rocks.

That one was okay, though I did give it up after maybe 8 eps (no complaints, just wasn't in the mood at the time, I guess)
The bike is crap, though. Looks like a hog-derived V-twin, but sounds like a 4 (crossplane-crankshaft? .. yeah right, I doubt the writer even knows about those), has a weird 2-1-?-2-4 exhaust setup, agricultural beam (steel?) frame that doesn't even look like it's bolted to any part of the engine..... and that's just from looking at ep1 >_<
You should try Baccano. Same style, better plot, better characters.
Okay,
Only reason I checked this thread is because I caught Mardock Scramble: First Compression earlier today. Was pretty good. Ended with a cliffhanger though (I think it's the first of a film trilogy). Very cyperpunk-ish, slightly gritty, understated voice-acting, some sex & violence, no cutesy "para-para-kyaah" nonsense that pollutes modern anime (well, there is a talking mouse, but he's a badass)... just how I like my anime. Not that deep or thought provoking, which is fine since I'm already old and thinking causes unwanted aging.

in my book, anime was defined as japanese animation. Those were good cartoons too! If you can believe me, Powerpuff girls was actually an american show that garnered enough fandom for Japan to make an anime spinoff. However, I'd only recommend the original Powerpuff girls since the Japanese counterpart seemed to have missed a couple naunces that made the series good.
Adult Swim continues to amaze me with how they quickly air anime series that were recently finished in Japan. I'm about halfway through Durarara and Celty does rock, but I like Heiwajima Shizuo and Orihara Izaya the most. They are both crazy and witty.

@Slob-kun: I've read that the motorcycle is actually a horse in disguise, so maybe it was purposely drawn wrong? Since Celty is a dullahan, the horse makes sense in terms of Gaelic mythology.
I missed the first few episodes...was the "crossplane-crankshaft" from the text messaging inserts?
@Sunn-san: Yes, those crazy guys are cool, but since I've recently started riding a motorbike (well, motorized anyway
) ... plus, I like moody chicks, and Celty certainly meets the criteria. (So now you know which Teen Titan was my favorite character.
)

^Correct. If you watched a couple eps. The motorcycle actually behaves more like a horse, so you could probably say it's a horse trapped inside a motorcycle. The series talks more about the gaelic mythology in the later eps.
Reading the text-messaging inserts aren't really important, since all of those texts are voiced out to the viewer.

@sage-sama
Oh wait ... a cross-crank is what makes a flat 4 sound like a twin .... but the anime's the other way round. .. Oops.
Yeah, I know the legend and what the bikes supposed to represent, I just don't like bastardized motorcycle designs. [/offtopic]
Edit:
Oh yeah, it also had a single-sided swingarm, iirc .... so basically a Harley that sounded like a Yamaha V-max (sans the horse yelping) with a rear-end designed by Ducati/Bimota? .... wtf?!!... ugh >_<
Edit2;
or maybe it was the swingarm from a Yamaha R6 ... meh, I don't care already.
Go watch Baccano!! ... at least that one's genuinely quirky.

@Sunn-san: Plus, the txtng is basically just kids building the dullahan into a local urban legend...I tend to tune them out completely.
@Slob-kun: You has a point; they put so much detail into her suit, for example, so maybe they should have made the horse's glamour more credible.

^ From what I understand about dullahans (and it isn't much) the black horse is actually part of the specter...

Well, yes. That was my original point. The horse is just *there*.
Besides, Celty seems to be very different from the typical description of a dullahan.
Incidentally (and completely beside the point), do they mention where her horse goes when we see her without the bike?
