Pretty cool - occasionally I've wanted a Matrix display on my desktop.

Would be even cooler if there were an audio visualizer screensaver...

That interests me too, it shouldn't be impossible, I'll look into it, if I find anything I will make a new how-to.

When I was tinkering around with having a background screensaver I did something like http://kmandla.wordpress.com/2007/02/23 … wallpaper/

Edit: Google xwinwrap. With that and mplayer you can setup a video background. Cheers!

You will not be able to see conky with xwinwrap

Edit: Ideas just seem to be flowing...if you could hook it up with a playlist that loops through mplayer it'd be possible to have your own tv-type thing going on lol. Just have a show desktop button to watch or hotkey.
