I installed the 0.1.11 release of pekwm last night from source.
i received no errors @ makeinstall.
I added pekwm.desktop to /usr/share/xsessions with:
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=PekWM
Comment=Start PekWM
Exec=/usr/local/bin/pekwm
Icon=
Type=Applicationand then set permissions with:
sudo chmod +x /usr/share/xsessions/Pekwm.desktopi double checked to make sure that pekwm was in /usr/local/bin,
and double checked permissions.
Still error message @login with "no exec for pekwm."
What am I missing?
Edit:I found two references to this error in Urukamas thread on Ubuntu with two different fixes.
one was to comment out the UTF Encoding, the other was to add "try exec=pekwm" after exec=pekwm.
While i like finding a fix, i sort of want to know why....

I also compiled from source, and works for me (themes don't like my graphics card though, I can only use the default orange theme).
You don't need +x on the desktop file.
Mine is
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=PekWM
Comment=Start PekWM
Exec=pekwm
Icon=
Type=ApplicationTry selecting the "user script" option or whatever it is on the GDM login menu, and running pekwm manually.
