Cursor Disappears + Screensaver Activates When it Shouldn't

I should say, it temporarily disappears. I did search and people are having different problems like the cursor becomes invisible after upgrading and it's not coming back on. Mine is kind of a two-part problem.

I was watching something online in full screen, I would pause it once in a while to take a break from it, etc. This whole time it hadn't shut the monitor off or activated the screen saver, and not in the 1 day and 6 hours it was on previously... So half way through this thing I'm watching AFTER moving the mouse and clicking the play button, I'd say about 10 to 15 minutes in the screen goes blank. I move the mouse to start it, a little confused but it's on. Now a little while later it happens again, I move the mouse and the cursor disappears.

This happened once before when the computer wasn't being used (just had music playing). Screen shut off and the cursor is magically gone. To fix it I just restart the computer and the cursor comes back but it seems to be doing this at random times. As mentioned my system was up for a day and six hours before, screen never shut off once until just a few minutes ago.

It's a really minor inconvenience, but aren't those usually the most annoying ones? hmm heh.

EDIT*
Looking in to it a little more, it seems to be a kernel issue, but there still has to be a fix (preferably one that doesn't involve downgrading the kernel version), correct? This also doesn't explain my monitor having a mind of it's own.
