dura's response was a little terse, but I agree. I'll also elaborate.
I personally don't care for much eyecandy in my Openbox and GTK themes (and you're probably looking for both), but a good place to start looking for themes is box-look.org. I believe you may be able to find some at Deviant Art as well, and there are several other places to look; for example, a quick web search turned up this as the top result.

@pvsage Is it hard doing that?

The GTK themes are what you set with LXappearance (the app launched from CrunchBang's Openbox menu from Settings >> User Interface Settings. Mostly it's a matter of downloading the theme, extracting it (they usually come in a compressed file of some kind, colloquially known as a "tarball"), and dropping it in your ~/.themes directory.
As for "Make your own", the themes are all just test files and bitmaps (well, occasionally svg images). It may take a little work to understand the code used in the text files, but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it.

This is what I usually do, for my (#!) Openbox . . . I go to http://box-look.com
Go the the Openbox Themes section, find what looks nice, download the 'tar' file. (save to my Downloads folder)
Click on the 'tar' and extract the file ... then, go to ~/usr/share/themes (Open as Admin/Root) and copy the extracted 'tar' folder to Themes.
Close everything and in the Menu > Settings>Openbox>Reconfigure
Done ... open Settings>Openbox>GUI Config Tool and 'open' the new theme.

The best theme in the universe is FlatStudio (Light) http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ … ent=154296 and it looks fantastic on the best distro in the whole universe Crunchbang linux. In my humble opinion

For clarification purposes, the correct URL is in fact box-look.org/. Other than that minor typographical error, excellent post!

+10 from me on this one. It's even better than Xenull's awesome Minull Invert.

holy r*ch** - why I didn't I see this theme before..!
right now I am sitting with a live system at an hard-drive-crashed oooold laptop, trying waldorf live for the first time.. it just runs and everything is working better than statler and faster from live usb than the mint install this old chap had before - will organize a new HDD for this machine and install waldorf and this awesome theme. the owner will burst with joy..
if you want eyecandy, get a nice theme and maybe a nice dock.. we love openbox for eye-relaxing simplicity.-

GotSupreme, just extract the archive into your ~/.themes folder and apply it by running 'User and Interface Settings' from your openbox menu ('Settings' section).
Guys, I am looking forward to your screenshots with that theme in the screenshot thread

What exactly do I extract here? Confused...

@GotSupreme
Hit the back button on the archive manager so you are looking at the FlatStudioDark folder.
Extract this folder to your ~/.themes folder.
Apply the FlatStudioDark GTK theme with LXappearance.

Extracting files, etc., and all that, and knowing correct themes for which part, etc., is just as complicated as copying an existing theme and customizing it!

On a somewhat related note, can anyone identify the Openbox theme shown in this screenshot? (source)

Thank you!

I'm not at an Openbox box right now (actually a rather closed-down Windows box) but I'm pretty sure that's one of the Onyx themes.

@corenominal: I hereby ask that this flatstudio should be included in crunchbang as an optional theme.
