[RESOLVED] Help me get my Waldorf dirty!

Hi there guys,

I'm running into some issues where media players are throwing gstreamer plugin errors when trying to play my mp3's. For instance,   I can play it through the file manager, but not through guayadeque.

I'm kind of a kitchen sink guy when it comes to codecs, because I deal a lot with media and don't want to hunt and peck every time I want to play a file.  I'm wondering that I might need to install to make sure I'm set.

Looking at synaptic, I've got

gstreamer:
ffmpeg
pulseaudio
plugins-base
gconf
x
good
bad0.10-0
plugins-bad

installed.  What else might I need to install?

Thanks for your time!

Assuming that you have

deb http://www.deb-multimedia.org testing main non-free

in your /etc/apt/sources list

gstreamer-plugins-good, bad and ugly plus the additional ones in the following:

sudo apt-get install mpg321 gstreamer0.10-plugins-good gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg

64 bit?

sudo apt-get install w64codecs

32 bit?

sudo apt-get install w32codecs

That should get you going.

Re: [RESOLVED] Help me get my Waldorf dirty!

I recently installed Guayadeque and every time I attempted to play an mp3 music file, I got all kinds of errors and Guayadeque would freeze.  I can't remember where I found the solution, but installing the gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 package resolved my issue.  Guayadeque works perfectly now and it has become my audio player of choice under Linux.

Re: [RESOLVED] Help me get my Waldorf dirty!

I really liked Guayadeque but something about my network shares caused it to lock up shortly after starting play.  GMB has been really bulletproof for me and with the fantastic tutorial(by Vast, I believe), the layout is close to perfect for me and I get the nifty desktop overlay.

^ Thanks, the How To is in my sig

I used to use Guayadeque but found it very limited and extremely bloated on my setup compared to GMB
