I've been a Debian user since woody and I have to say -- I've been using your distro for over a year now, and I must say it's been the one for me. I have a rather odd constellation of needs, when it comes to my desktop setup in my office, and also at home on my Gateway laptop that shipped steaming with corporate dungware... suffice it to say she runs like a gazelle under waldorf, where she lumbered under win7 and win8 (one shudders at this moment) under tests.
So these are my weird needs:
I work in academia, and I like a stable system that supports a keyboard-centered environment -- but I don't like tiling WMs. Pure Debian ships with a doofy theme ("I dream of spaceships?" wtfseriously) and I don't like to spend more than, say, an hour initially setting up my system's ergonomics, apps and anatomy. There existed no distro before Crunchbang that conformed to these needs and to my (admittedly utilitarian and minimalist) aesthetic tastes.
That's actually another one. I like a simple, even stark, grey box with conky, and a functional, resource-ultralight setup awaiting the next function call. Crunchbang does this beautifully, right out of the box.
I prefer, but don't demand, a high degree of customization. Editing dotfiles by hand just seems so much more intuitive to me.
I like a responsive, smart, dramatically snappy system. When I enter a command in terminator, I expect ass to be hauled and the coffeelike aroma of hustle delicately hovering in the air. I'm just like that, I guess.
Crunchbang is all these things. Best distro ever. I had to finally just get on here and say it -- it's fantastic. It's well-organized, it's stylish, and it's fast fast fast. Thanks!

OK, so that quote is an excellent candidate for a slide in the CrunchBang presentation

I am an orphan, alone; nevertheless I am found everywhere. I am one, but opposed to myself. I am youth and an old man at one and the same time. In woods and mountains I roam, but I am hidden in the innermost soul of man. I am mortal for everyone, yet I am not touched by the cycle of the aeons.
