Hello faithful community which i call home,
I would like to make a confession.
I was recently trying to watch a video online. #! was not loading the video because it was wmv format. (kab.tv)
so i got a little frustrated since i needed to watch the videos for school. I decided that not being able to find a solution to this problem and the importance of these videos that i would have to switch OS.
So i tried Luninux OS instead.
At first i was impressed with everything this OS had to offer. It looked very nice and all seemed to function properly including the fact that when i opened the web browser and pointed it to the site where i had previously failed to watch WMV videos i was met with a flawless procedure where the OS found the plugin by itself and i was watching videos in no time.
but then the honeymoon was quickly over.
I found that i only had one desktop to work with, the keyboard shortcuts i was used to didnt work, and luninux was buggier than an ant pile.
I quickly ran back to my CD ISO image and re installed the latest #! OS on my system. Since then I have been able to watch those videos by other methods (the website gives you the option to DL the vids to watch from HD)
So finally I would like to say that their aint nothing better out there than #! Linux.
Thanks Corenominal and all the forum admins for the dedication and support. I will be donating to the project the amount that i would have paid at the store for an awesome OS like #!
PS I strongly recommend anybody who uses FOSS software on a usual basis to donate to the project what you would have paid for if you bought the private version.

You should be able to view wmv videos with the right plug-in.

Right, this is never strictly a problem on the distro's end. Mplayer2 should handle it just fine per default. As for streaming try to get proprietary win32codecs from the deb-multimedia repository (which is a third party repository, just for your information) and the mplayer plugin.

Thats not a distro problem..more a video or codec prob...
